Moving in the Shire of Mundaring

The Shire of Mundaring covers the Perth Hills communities around its council seat at Mundaring. Local areas include Mundaring, Mahogany Creek, Sawyers Valley, Chidlow, Wooroloo, Darlington, Glen Forrest, Parkerville, Stoneville, Hovea and Mount Helena.

This is home. I grew up in Mahogany Creek and I live in Chidlow, and Brookwood Realty’s office is at 2/1 Mundaring Weir Road, Mundaring.

Life in the Shire of Mundaring

The shire is a string of villages set among bush and state forest, linked by the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail along the old railway line. Mundaring Weir and the No. 1 Pump Station museum tell the story of the Golden Pipeline, which has carried water to the Goldfields for more than a century. Lake Leschenaultia in Chidlow is a favourite for a swim, a paddle or a picnic, and John Forrest National Park sits on the western edge of the shire.

Walkers and riders have plenty on the doorstep. The Munda Biddi Trail starts in Mundaring, the Kep Track starts at the Weir, and the Bibbulmun Track passes through. There’s also the Mundaring Arts Centre, local markets, an open-air cinema and historic pubs like the Parkerville Tavern.

Planning a move in the Shire of Mundaring? Start with a conversation. We talk about your property, your timing and your options, and I give you clear advice, including when waiting is the right call.

Every property I take on is photographed by me, with drone photography where it suits, so it is shown properly from the first day.
